headerMod is a browser extension that lets you add or modify HTTP request headers for development and testing. This policy explains what data we handle.
Data we collect
None. headerMod does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or analytics.
What stays on your device
- Your header rules and on/off preferences are stored in Chrome local storage on your device.
- Rules are applied via Chrome’s declarativeNetRequest API. They never leave your browser.
- There are no remote servers, accounts, telemetry SDKs, or third-party trackers in this extension.
Permissions
- storage — save your rules and language preference locally.
- declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess — apply header modifications to matching requests on sites you have granted access to.
- activeTab — when you open the popup, temporarily access the current tab so the extension can identify that site and optionally apply rules there.
- optional host access — requested per site when you click Allow, so rules can keep working after the popup is closed.
